Thaiyoga Massage and the nervous system

12 to 15 December 2024 in Bivio GR

We have created a special setting for the further training in "Thai yoga massage and the nervous system".
In the beautiful village of Bivio in Graubünden, a quiet and powerful nature awaits us. Here we will explore coregulation and the polyvagal theory within Thai yoga massage in a light-flooded room.

Unique is our encounter with a herd of horses in this inspiring nature, where we let ourselves be carried away into their world of coregulation. This self-awareness experience gives you access to your inner wisdom and gut feeling. You can integrate this treasure into your treatments, and your clients will love this mindful approach.

Course content

The focus of this module is on the nervous system and its balancing through Thai massage and bodywork. We will deal intensively with the following topics:

  • How to balance the nervous system through Thai massage (polyvagal theorie)
  • The connection to emotional imbalances
  • When special attention is required in treatment
  • The influence of different systems

  • To recognise imbalances in the nervous system
  • To provide relief and treatment through various approaches, from light touch to deep pressure
  • To influence the central and autonomic nervous system
  • The necessary anatomy of the human nervous system for this course

In the practice we offer sufficient space to explore the nervous system and find ways to harmonise with it. Our treatment aims to achieve a profound calming and balancing effect, especially in cases of stress, psychosomatic problems, depression, insomnia, burnout, traumatic experiences, aggression and hyperactivity.

Encounters with horses promote relaxation of the nervous system. Contact with them increases the release of the bonding hormone, thereby facilitating social bonding and improving emotional well-being. Concentrating on interaction with horses promotes mindfulness and has a stress-reducing effect - all in all a beneficial self-awareness experience for the nervous system. And horses give incorruptible feedback on every approach/touch and on your presence in the connection.

This retreat is aimed at anyone who has completed at least one massage training and would like to discover the fascinating world of the nervous system. Massage therapists, bodyworkers, movers and other therapists who incorporate touch into their practice are welcome.
